Job Title: Executive Director, Central Vermont Chamber of Commerce
Reports To: Board of Directors
Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the
Central Vermont Chamber, overseeing all aspects of operations including member recruitment and
retention, event planning, community engagement, marketing, financial management, and
government relations, while actively promoting the Chamber's mission and vision within the local
business community. Strong financial stewardship skills are a must, as well as a willingness to work
closely with the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree in business management, nonprofit management or related field
preferred
5 years’ nonprofit management experience, preferably including government relations. Supervisory
experience for a staff of 3.
Valid Driver’s license
Ability to interact with public officials, business owners, and the general public
Working conditions: general office, remote/hybrid work with frequent off-site work. Frequent travel
within Washington County Vermont
Some evening and weekend work required
Candidate is also responsible for the maintenance and care of the Chamber building, which also
includes working with the building manager to ensure available leased space is occupied
The Executive Director role is perfect for a motivated self-starter, who is able to prioritize in rapidly
changing situations. The ideal candidate will have leeway to pursue the Chamber’s mission with the
guidance of the Bylaws and the support of the board
Salary: this is a full-time salary exempt position, starting pay is $70-75k annually
